Dinosaur Week: Day 1

This week, we are introducing some of the most ancient animals to have ever walked the earth…

DINOSAURS!!

To learn about dinosaurs, just like any other living creature, it’s important to first understand their first steps into life.
For today’s craft, our summer school kids are creating their very own dinosaur eggs!!
Let’s see how they made it…

First, they use a white paper plate to resemble the egg of a hatching little dinosaur.
With special pens, the kids are able to make a polka dotted design for their eggs in colors of their choice!

Next, everyone gets their own little dinosaur to color! I wonder what kind of dinosaur they are coloring..?

So cute!! The dinosaur is sleeping!
Meanwhile, the plate they used to decorate the outside of the egg is cut in a zigzag pattern.

Then, everyone has to glue in their sleeping dinosaur onto a different plate.
Use lots of glue so your little dinosaur doesn’t fall out of its home!

Now…put it all together and, wow! Would you look at that!
It looks like a baby dinosaur getting ready to hatch out of its egg!

How adorable!! Our class gets a little peek inside of what a dinosaur egg would look like.
With some tender love and care, their dinosaur will surely grow up to be nice and friendly!
